For those needing to make travel arrangements, the congress will kick off with registration between 9am and 10am on Wednesday 20th August 2008 and will conclude at lunchtime on Friday 22nd August 2008. The 2008 S.A.S.V.E.P.M Congress will take place from 20 - 22 August 2008 at the Kopanong Hotel and Conference Centre in Gauteng The theme of the Congress is "emerging and re-emerging diseases" and we are privileged to have Professor Barry Schoub as our plenary speaker and Dr Peter Roeder as our Continuing Education (CE) presenter.
Dr Roeder will cover a diverse range of topics during the Continuing Education (CE) sessions including:
1) Emerging zoonotic diseases 2) Rinderpest and PPR - one disease of the past and one of the future. 3) ASF and diseases important in it's differential diagnosis 4) Bluetongue and EHD 5) Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. In addition to Dr Roeder we will have speakers from a variety of disciplines who will present papers covering a diverse range of subjects.
